Position Overview:

Seeking dynamic individual for a Massage Therapist role working with various populations and clientele at our state of the art and newly constructed Recreation Center. The Rec will pioneer and promote the integrated health model in providing a seamless integration of performance training, fitness and wellness, nutrition, rehabilitation, recovery, child care, and recreational sport activities all under one roof.

The Rec is based on a fluid and fast paced professional team environment where all staff are required to wear multiple professional hats, and work within a highly supportive team environment. All staff are required to be highly professional, supportive, respectful, and valued for their unique talents and experience at all times.

The ideal candidate will have the professional opportunity to advance to a role beyond the listed post based on the performance, management, and success of the Massage Therapy Department and the Rec as a whole.

Responsibilities and job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in all aspects of the various Massage Therapy services for all members and guests.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Rec's various integrated services, programs, and staff.
  • Collaborate and work in a holistic team environment that includes Performance and Fitness, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Massage, Aquatics, Child Care, and Recreational Sports.
  • Perform, plan, and prepare all assessments and programs following our integrated health model.
  • Evaluate and update overall Massage Therapy programs for clients as needed to ensure optimal outcome. 
  • Instruct, motivate, and mentor clients in a safe, legal, moral, and ethical manner to achieve their goals.
  • Openly communicate with staff, members, and guests to ensure all goals are met.
  • Help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all members and guests in the Massage Therapy areas.
  • Help provide a safe, fun, happy, and educational experience for all members and guests utilizing our Massage Therapy services.
  • Assist in the daily cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of the Massage Therapy areas, including maintaining documentation and preventative maintenance of all related areas, supplies, and equipment.
  • Participate in staff education covering all aspects of the Rec's methodology.
  • Participate in program planning, development, design, and research.
  • Help develop fliers, brochures, advertisements, etc. to promote the various Massage Therapy programs and services.
  • Take on added role as needed and determined by Executive Director.
  • Help conduct various client engagements, educational activities, and events.
  • Act as a professional liaison of the Rec Center and provide a warm and welcoming environment for all members and guests.
  • Follow established policies and procedures set forth by the Executive Director.
  • Maintain professional licenses and credentials as required, including but not limited to, attending necessary continuing education courses.
  • Cross train with other departments within the Rec’s purview.
  • Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates applying for this position should be comfortable in various environmental conditions and be able to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday. The physical requirements of this job require frequent standing, walking, demonstrating, and assisting as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Associate’s in Massage Therapy, Exercise Science, or related degree from an accredited program.
  • Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT). Must currently hold or able to obtain license in Texas.
  • Background and experience in Swedish, Hot Stone, Sports, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, etc.
  • Certified First Aid & CPR w/ AED by American Red Cross.
  • Exercise judgment and discretion in the development of proper massage therapy prescription.
  • Demonstrate energy and passion for helping others achieve their personal goals.
  • Strong customer service skills where servicing the “client” is top priority.
  • Excellent presentation skills in both small and large group settings.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office or related products.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's in Massage Therapy, Exercise Science, or related degree from an accredited program.
  • For dual role consideration, at least 1 nationally accredited certification as a Personal Trainer (CPT), Group Fitness Instructor (GFI), Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS, or similar certification.
  • Background and experience in working with various clientele and populations, including athletes.

  • Help supervise all aspects of the Nutrition Bar, including helping oversee all Nutrition Bar Attendants, operations, scheduling, ordering, inventory, etc.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, and supervision of Nutrition Bar Attendants, Interns, etc.
  • Enthusiastically greet and direct members, guests, and staff as they enter/exit the Nutrition area.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Rec's various integrated services, programs, and staff.
  • Collaborate and work in a holistic team environment that includes Performance and Fitness, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Massage, Aquatics, Child Care, and Recreational Sports.  
  • Help perform, plan, and prepare all assessments and programs following our integrated health model.
  • Help evaluate and update overall nutrition, hydration, and recovery programs for clients as needed to ensure optimal outcome.
  • Help instruct, motivate, and mentor clients 1-on-1, in small groups, and large groups in a safe, legal, moral, and ethical manner to achieve their goals.
  • Openly communicate with staff, members, and guests to ensure all goals are met.
  • Help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all members and guests in the Nutrition areas.
  • Help provide a safe, fun, happy, and educational experience for all members and guests utilizing our Nutrition services.
  • Assist in the daily cleaning, stocking, and maintenance of all Nutrition areas, including maintaining documentation and preventative maintenance of all related areas, supplies, and equipment.
  • Participate in staff education covering all aspects of the Rec's methodology.
  • Help develop fliers, brochures, advertisements, etc. to promote the various Nutrition services.
  • Help conduct various client engagements, educational activities, and events.
  • Act as a professional liaison of the Rec and provide a warm and welcoming environment for all members and guests.
  • Follow established policies and procedures set forth by the Executive Director.
  • Take on added role as needed and determined by the Executive Director.
  • Maintain professional credentials as required, including but not limited to, attending necessary continuing education courses.
  • Cross train with other departments within the Rec’s purview.
  • Some travel may be required.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates applying for this position should be comfortable in various environmental conditions and be able to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted repeatedly throughout the workday. The physical requirements of this job require frequent standing, walking, demonstrating, and assisting as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s in Nutrition, Exercise Science, or a related degree from an accredited university.
  • At least 1 nationally accredited certification in Nutrition (i.e., ISSA, NASM, Precision Nutrition, etc.), and/or a Registered Dietitian through the ADA.
  • Certified First Aid & CPR w/ AED by American Red Cross (will certify in-house).
  • Demonstrate energy and passion for helping others achieve their personal goals.
  • Strong customer service skills where servicing the “client” is top priority.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office or related products.

Preferred:

  • Master's in Nutrition, Exercise Science, or a related degree from an accredited university.
  • Background, knowledge, and experience in Exercise Science, Sports Nutrition, etc.
  • Background and experience in working with various clientele and populations, including athletes.
  • Licensed Registered Dietitian (RD) and/or Licensed Sports Dietitian (CSSD).
  • At least 1 nationally accredited certification as a Performance Specialist, Strength and Conditioning Coach, or similar certification.

Position Overview:

Seeking dynamic individual for a Sports & Recreation Assistant role working with various populations and clientele at our state of the art and newly constructed Recreation Center. The Rec will pioneer and promote the integrated health model in providing a seamless integration of performance training, fitness and wellness, nutrition, rehabilitation, recovery, child care, and recreational sport activities all under one roof.

The Rec is based on a fluid and fast paced professional team environment where all staff are required to wear multiple professional hats, and work within a highly supportive team environment.
